Silver Crest Karaoke
We have been unable to connect the Karaoke box to our TV. The CD works fine but the microphones don't work. Has anyone else experienced a problem? Any help?

Hi Emily! We seem to have the same problem connecting the Karaoke set to our TV or DVD. The microphones do not work. We even do not have any manual to the set, although it is quite obvious how it should be plugged. Can anyone help?

Yes, we have the same problem. We can't connect the Karaoke set to our TV. Don't know what to do.

Still having the same problem
I did the above,but I'm still having the same problem,no sound from the mic. what so ever.I'm getting desperate!! (having promised a karaoke party in 2 weeks)

I try'd the mics and they worked fine for me, can anyone tell me where i can buy a set? surely the makers haven't suddenly stopped making them because Lidl sold all they had? there must be other retailers who stock them? I phoned Lidl and they were less than helpful

I bought mine yesterday - 19th Dec - having same trouble with the mic. Tried all manner of ways to get it going. Put plugs in back of black box - input/output, used scarts for DVD/TV corresponding input/output and DVD works fine but nothing via the microphones. At a loss!

Same Problem no Luck DVD works but nothing from Microphones spent hours trying all diff ways to sort it. Taking back to Lidl tomorrow!!!

Bought 1 yesterday tried every way of plugging it in but no sound from mic's dvd works fine, just come back from Lidl's with refund, assistant just threw it on the floor and gave me my money back. If you've bought one for Christmas check it now.

I bought mine on Monday exactly the same problem mics do not work; light on box cd fine tried absolutley every possible connections; took it back and got another but that is exactly the same, its almost like there is nothing in the box, is it the tv setting, dont they work on digital tele`s - fed up or what - anybody got theres working yet

Ive bought one too and im having problems, think you need an input to the dvd player but 99 percent of DVDs dont have them! apparently video recorders and dvd recorders have them?! CANNOT GET THE DAMN THING WORKING

My husband bought this set on Monday for me, as part of my Christmas, as our own CD+G player has been playing up, and needed it for a Karaoke night next week, and thought it would be just a case of putting cables etc into DVD player and TV, and then playing our discs.. WRONG...I am usually competant with any gadgets, but this beat me! Spent hours on Christmas Day, putting cables in, taking them out, Input/output Scart's the same. Eventually after about 4 hours, got the DVD working, but not the Mics. and there was a loud Buzzing noise coming from the machine.The CD was not recognised either, so could not play it.. I gave up, and put it all back into box, will be returning it!

Hey, I guess I'm not the only one who bought this machine and ended up useless! It could be so simple that simply connect the cables and good to go. This simple thing turns out complicated, I dont seems either to find someone who could make this thing works!! Is this a joke huh? Please help though anyone knows how? :/

The Mics work normally, I have pluged them in a guitar amp and they worked fine. The thing that's not working was err I dunno.. the box or connecting incorrectly. I have followed the instruction carefully to connect them right, started over and again, still not working! umm.. what am I going to do?

Frustrated but do I have the answer!!!
I spent most of Christmas day trying to get this set to work with lots of help, support and frustration from my family. It's still a talking point so I phoned Lidl to complain and got a number for a technical helpline they gave me the address for this website. Finally! Thanks for the link Kathleen. Earlier I've connected everything right as it simply says in the instruction and just the same what it says in the link you gave. But in the link I've found one thing which says "Please keep in mind that some TVs automatically switch to the SCART input after the DVD player has been swtiched on. Durling karaoke operation YOU HAVE TO SWITCH BACK TO THE USED AV CONNECTOR. Otherwise the microphone signal cannot be heard" So I just needed to swich the TV connector to the AV and that's it, it worked! I guess this might be the problem that others have as well so check this out guys!!! :)

I returned mine to Lidl yesterday, and seemingly I was the 3rd person to do the same that day, all same fault.so no surprise to them. Got refund no problem. Have ended up buying a fantastic new Karaoke player that does everything. It is the Star singer 2000 HDMI player , which I found on line from EM Karaoke and costs £129 plus delivery of £7.99 .And it is built , distributed etc in Nottingham, so good quality, and heavy duty Mics included..plus 2 SD cards preloaded with 400 songs..it will be with me tomorrow in time for our New year party. Easy set up too..:) so may be worth spending that wee bit extra money, on something you will get a lot of fun from,

Hello all, I've found people connect this box incorrectly had the exact same problem as you. but here's a little guide on how to get your microphone to work. First Take a DVD player, remove all cables from the connected TV so that it is only connected to power. Second Take your black box and connect the 3 cables into the input (the black box) Take the other end of your cables and plug them into the match on your DVD player. You now have only 1 set of cables in your DVD. Third Take your second cabel and plug it in your black box in the output, take your other end of the cable and connect a scar to match the colors of scar plug and connect now scar the connector to your television and now your microphone work! :) Enjoy now the microfones works

Bought the set from Lidl Belgium on 27/12/2011 for New Year's party . We go the DVID and the songs going but not the mirophones . New Year's day spent 2 hours with all the cables no result with the microphones . The instruction book in flemish and french was not very good . Normall the Lidl products are good. If anyone from Lidl is reading all the comments please explain in simple English how everything works .

After 3 days of stress with this I had almost given up and started to place all the bits in the box to return. Then thought I would just try the Internet and bingo. Found this web page went on www.service.targa.co.uk and downloaded wiring diagram. The key is to take out all hdmi cables and just connect DVD with scart output and switch television to AV. So wish I'd done this on new year.

I have an HDMI output only
The problem I have is that my DVD has only HDMI output. Have sent an inquiry to Targa to find out what I should do to fix it..
